IFAH highlights responsible use of antibiotics

    By admin | News & Opinions | Comments are Closed | 20 January, 2015 | 0

WSAVA affiliate member, the International Federation for Animal Health (IFAH), reinforced its message about the responsible use of antibiotics in both human and veterinary medicines in a statement as global experts came together at the Third International Conference on Responsible Use of Antibiotics in Amsterdam from 29 September 1 October 2014.With heightened concerns about the emergence of antimicrobial resistance, which impacts animal welfare, public health, food safety and the environment, IFAH called for all those engaged in animal health to have a responsibility to ensure proper use of antibiotics, a commitment to transparency and monitoring and to promote education on what responsible use of antibiotics means whenever possible. The 2012 IFAH white paper Benefits of antibiotics can be found at www.ifahsec.org.
